Beyonce's album is very sexual, so it will inevitably attract an audience that wants to hear sexual music. Her baby is on the album. The baby is too young to give her informed consent to being on an album that will be heard by millions of people all over the world. The baby is also in a video for one of the tracks. Again that video is online for the whole world to watch, alongside some sexual videos which will inevitably have attracted people who want to watch Beyonce being sexual. Are the sort of people who want to watch music videos because they're sexual the sort of people Beyonce should be aiming to attract to a video that features a baby?
Well. if it is her baby, then she is the one who has to give the informed consent because of the baby being under age. This is why you have to have parents signitures for school events and kids can't go in to dirty shops without a parent so on... The baby doesn't know whats going on and might be embarrassed of it one day but I m sure they aren't showing the kid naked? I hope not... I don't know, what about that baby that would craw across the TV with no clothing on then some lady would rub its bottom and say something like "as smooth as a baby's bottom"? Loads of kids are stuck on tv and no one ever asks them what they think about it.
Well, if you're asking about child exploitation, I dont' think that is the case here. It's just a proud mama giving her fans a glimpse into her life. I personally would choose to keep my child's life more private than that, but Beyonce is a very public figure, so is her husband. It's pretty inevitable that their baby will have to endure a dose of the public life as well. It comes with the legacy.
As the sexual media sold with, or next to media that features babies--Come on--you're being absurd!! You're obviously not a parent, are you?
There's nothing sexual about a baby, that's true. And there's nothing sexual about this baby. She's not trying to convey it this way.
She's catering to the twenty-something to thirty-something audience, mostly females. and guess what those females are interested in. They're interested in being sexual on one hand, and they're interested in babies on the other hand. How do I know this? Because I'm one of them.
One could say that Beyonce is trying to send a message--You can still feel, and be, sexy after you have a baby. It's not an outrage to have a sex drive and indulge in a sex life after you've had a baby. Many women--and more importantly, they're men--forget that little fact. Too many women become all matronly after they have a baby. They become frustrated because they dont' have a clue how to separate the woman they used to be, the one who, after all, created the baby by having sex, and the mama who's a human milk machine. It's ok for a woman not to feel sexual after they have a baby--so some may think that Beyonce is pressuring people into feeling the need to be sexual. But I dont' think that's the case here. This is for the women who WANT their sexuality back after experiencing brand-new motherhood, but can't separate the two roles.
I was fortunate enough to have been able to sepparate the two roles and balance the two aspects of my life--and I am fortunate enough that my man is totally on board with this. But I realize I'm in the minority here. So yes. As a woman who loves sex, and loves babies, the two don't correlate for me at all but I'm passionate about both, I can see why she would have chosen to feature both aspects of her self on the new album.
And, before anyone goes and tries to say that this was media-driven, that there is a demand for sexy beyonce, blah, blah, blah, blah, she released this album entirely on her own, in secret, and thus, there was little to no motivation from her management, etc.
